Saigina is 49 years old and only had 2 children of which one died as a baby. Her husband, January, died a few years ago. He had 2 wives. The other wife also died and left a 2 week old baby with Saigina. It was a boy and he is 11 years old now and makes Saugina very happy. 

Saugina said that when she was young, she dreamed about a husband in the city, but instead she ended up in the bush and without any husband. When her husband was still alive, he only came home sometimes. He tried to get money to get a better life for his family, but died before he could achieve that. 

Saugina has got 4 goats, 5 chickens, 30 cashew nut trees and 26 pineapple plants. She plant maize and soya beans.

Her present income is USD 75 per year.
