Who are Zephanias and Phelemena?
Zephanias and Phelemena
Zephanias is 56 years old and Phelemena 55 years . They have got 4 children and all of them are healthy and alive . The children already moved out of the house and only 4 grandchildren are living with the family . They are very happy now , but it has not always been like that . Zephanias had no friends and even his wife was not his friend . He was drinking a lot and then always fighting . Children were afraid to come even near his house .
The family owns 3 goats, 10 chickens, 4 mango trees, 3 citrus trees, 4 coconut trees and 8 Cashew nut trees. They have got 0.7 ha of land, of which nothing is de-bushed , but he also work the land of his father where they plant maize, peanuts, sorghum and beans.
Happy Story – He choose song number 6 of their song book to be the thing that make him very happy . The song is about waiting for God . Waiting for god to find him , changed his whole life . He changed from a drunk to a good man who even studied at the bible school . That also makes everyone around him very happy .
Sad Story - Both his parents were killed during the war time . Just before the end of the war , soldiers took all their cattle and his mother and father had to look after the cattle for them . When the old people became tired , they just told them it is not a problem and that they can rest a little bit under the tree . They then shot both of them . Zephanias was already 26 years old then , but it was the worst thing that ever happens in their family . That also made him to start drinking and made him a bad man .
Never forget Story - The story is about this hunter who normally catches a lot of animals in his traps . There was a family who wanted to make a party at their house . So they asked this man to provide some meat for their party and then they will pay him . They wanted the meat on the Friday and the man agreed . He prepared his traps and then waited for the next morning . When he arrived there , he saw one buck on the one side and another on the other side , but nothing in his trap . He started running then to try and get them inside his trap , but he forgot about another trap that he made himself . It was a big hole with sticks at the bottom . When some animals fall in there , they are killed then by the sticks . So the man himself fell into the hole .and find some animals that were also in there. Another man who was in the area then heard someone screaming for help . He then went there and found this man in the hole. He then cut a big pole to help the man to get out of the hole . He started pulling the man out , but he was to heavy because he also brought the 2 animals with him . The man let him go down then again . He left the animals down there and then it was easy to go up , but before he was on top , he decided that he cannot leave the meat down in the hole , so he asked the man to let him go down again . He then tied the meat again and asked the man on the outside to pull again . He pulled and pulled , but it was again to heavy and the man got tired . Later the man could not hold the pole anymore and left . The hunter fell back into the hole , and into the sticks . He died there with his meat in the hole . His big greed cost him his life .
Dream for the area: Zephanias and Phelemena agrees that if they would receive a lot of money to spend on agriculture for the area , they would just clean the area and then plough and plant for all people .After that he would help to buy cattle for all the people .
Their own dream: Their own dream is the same than their dream for the area .
